Philip Pullman is one of the most famous children's writers in the world today. He is the acclaimed author the His Dark Materials trilogy and the recipient of many prestigious awards including: the 1996 Carnegie Medal, the Guardian Children's Fiction Award, the British Book Award and both the 2001 Whitbread Children's Book of the Year and the main Whitbread Book of the Year awards. He lives in Oxford.
