Shenaaz Nanji

Shenaaz Nanji was born in Mombassa, Kenya, where she says, 'I grew up in a midst of a fusion of cultures: Bantu-Swahili, Arabic and East Indians. I am a cultural hybrid with roots in Indian culture.' While raising her two children, Shenaaz found that there was a lack of multicultural literature, so she began to craft stories of her own, thus beginning her career as a writer. Shenaaz is the author of several books for children, but this is her first project with Barefoot Books. She currently lives in Calgary, Canada, with her husband.
