#BookIllustrationOfTheDay is by John Burningham for "Courtney" (1994). I'll be joining Catherine Rayner to celebrate the great man's life & work TODAY at the Edinburgh Book Festival, 5.30. I love his deft characterisation - the gentle Courtney, in quirky yet sensitive line. pic.twitter.com/OqYfs7UqTf

#BookIllustrationOfTheDay is by @pam_smy for her brand new book, "Merrylegs" (2019) about a pony with a dream... Look at this gorgeous illustration with wonderful heightened light & shadow, a careful palette & fabulous composition. Who could resist a retro fairground like that? pic.twitter.com/exBJSO6VGs
